Situated on the east side of the Island, Protaras covers approximately 5km of the golden Famagusta Coastline. Protaras flourished into a charming tourist resort in

the 1980s as a more sophisticated alternative to the buzzing and wild atmosphere of its neighbouring town; Agia Napa (located 9 miles west of Protaras). Protaras became an idyllic holiday resort largely due to the beautiful sandy beaches in its vicinity. There are several excellent beaches, each developed to appeal to a particular type of holidaymaker.

Profitis Elias Church

Although modern this church was built in the Byzantine style to replace a small room that was being used as a church. It is well worth the walk to the church and the climb to the top (about 100 steep stone steps) as from the top there is a breathtaking view of Protaras and the surrounding countryside. In the evenings the church is lit up.

Cape Greco

The National forest park of Cavo Grecolies between Agia Napa and Protaras. This area of unique natural beautyw will satisfy a wide range of interest such as swimming, diving, paragliding, fishing, rowing, cycling, riding, climbing, air sports and hiking.

Ocean AquariumProtaras
Ocean Aquarium is home to 300 species in over 50 displays, from sharks, stingrays, mooray eels, to crocodiles and penguins. Fun Park - Protaras Water Park

Water park is situated in the heart of Protaras, next door to the Pascalia Hotel. It has a wide range of exhilarating rides and child friendly facilities, making it a great day out for the whole family. Enjoy rafting, flumes and wave pools in a safe, fun environment. Alternatively you could drive to the Water World Water Park in Aiya Napa.
